Spotlight on Team Rhino: Amy Jervis

In our latest team spotlight, we’re delighted to introduce Amy Jervis, one of Rhino Doors’ talented Project Managers who joined the company in June 2024.

With a wealth of experience with high-profile contracts, including landmark projects including the soft services at the Tate Modern and Natural History Museum, Amy brings a dynamic skill set to the Rhino team. Her background in business management and her experience in estate completions for large housing developers provide the perfect foundation for overseeing our expanding portfolio of contracts.

We caught up with Amy to learn more about her journey into Project Management, what drew her to Rhino Doors, and her vision for the future.

Tell us a bit about your background in Project Management and your qualifications.

I have my Foundation Prince 2 and degree in Business Management and information. My previous role was as an Estates Completions Manager for a large housing developer. I saw the completion of housing development estates to the point of adoption by the local authority or relevant management companies.

What type of projects did you manage before joining Rhino Doors?

In addition to large housing developments, I have worked on various contracts and projects, including the construction of the Tate Modern 2 and the Natural History Museum, offering advice on various FM services using my experience from previous roles.

What brought you to Rhino Doors?

I was looking for a new challenge and a position where I could develop new skills and experience and contribute to the growth and development of a “smaller” company. When I learned about Rhino and the prospects in the pipeline, I realised there would be a wide variety of projects and work to get involved in. I look forward to contributing to the company’s growth in the coming years.

How has your previous experience prepared you to increase Rhino Doors’ capacity for larger-scale projects?

My previous experience has equipped me with a broad set of skills essential for managing larger-scale projects at Rhino Doors. As an Estates Completion Manager, I oversaw the completion of external site works across approximately 120 housing developments, ensuring they met the high standards required to release company bonds valued at £21 million. This role demanded meticulous attention to detail and the ability to navigate complex agreements with multiple stakeholders, which is directly applicable to managing Rhino’s diverse and technically demanding projects.

Additionally, my experience in customer care and resolving completion queries honed my ability to liaise directly with clients and third parties, ensuring clear communication and efficient problem-solving. These skills will be invaluable in maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring smooth project delivery at Rhino, mainly as we take on more ambitious and complex work.

What does the average week in your role look like?

Every day is different. I liaise and meet with clients on their project requirements, work on payment applications, put together project programmes, and monitor the progress of open projects we currently have to ensure everything is on track.

What do you find most rewarding about your work at Rhino Doors?

Working with the Rhino team is excellent. Everyone brings their own skills and experience to the table, which allows everyone to work well together towards the end goal. I enjoy seeing the final product come together from the design stage and seeing a project through until closing.

What excites you most about the future of Rhino Doors and your role as Project Manager here?

I enjoy being part of the company’s development and growth, working on the new large projects that are now coming through, and seeing the projects come to fruition. Now is a great time to be at Rhino, as the team is growing and new large projects are coming to life. Playing a part in these will be great for my personal experience and development.

As Rhino Doors grows, we’re excited to have someone with Amy’s experience and drive on board to help us take on larger and more complex projects. Her ability to manage diverse tasks, from client engagement to project tracking, ensures that we continue to deliver excellence across all stages of our work. Amy’s enthusiasm for being part of Rhino’s evolution and commitment to fostering successful client experiences are critical to our future success.

We look forward to seeing the impact she will make as we embark on this next chapter of growth and innovation.
