Rhino promotes QA Manager following NEBOSH accreditation

June 17 2022

Rhino Doors, the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance engineered doors, has promoted one of its team members to a newly created Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) management role.

Jez Alston, who previously served as Quality Assurance Manager, has been promoted to SHEQ Manager, following the successful completion of a NEBOSH qualification.

NEBOSH (the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) is a globally recognised awarding body, and its qualifications are the most sought after in the field of health and safety.

Jez’s promotion follows a year of concerted efforts to elevate Rhino’s global standing in health and safety management, positioning the manufacturer as a leader in its field.

In 2021, he led the application process for the company’s ISO 45001 accreditation, an internationally recognised certification demonstrating the efficiency of Rhino’s health and safety management systems.

Jez was also responsible for the company receiving a coveted Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) in 2022, in recognition of its excellence in safety performance.

Each year, more than 2,000 organisations enter the RoSPA Awards to be in with a chance of winning one of the prestigious accolades, making them among the most competitive industry awards of their kind.

Jez Alston, SHEQ Manager at Rhino Doors, commented: “I’m very pleased to be taking on this new role at Rhino, which will enable me to focus more closely on improving, and achieving recognition for, our safety, health, environment and quality systems.

“Over the last 18 months, we’ve worked hard to demonstrate our capabilities as an industry leader and I’m looking forward to continuing to collaborate with the wider team to solidify our reputation in these areas.”

Aside from his work to promote Rhino’s health and safety credentials, Jez co-led on the creation of a comprehensive CSR strategy in 2021, outlining the company’s commitments to mitigate its impact on the environment and to deliver social value to its community.
