Rhino proves stand-out success at Middle East Rail

In May, the Rhino Doors team had the pleasure of attending the 17th annual Middle East Rail in Abu Dhabi, one of the world’s leading trade events for innovation, technology, and strategy within the global rail sector.

The exhibition – hosted by Etihad Rail and developed in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure UAE, The Department for Culture and Tourism, GCC Railways Authority, and the Department of Municipalities and Transport UAE – brings together leading industry voices to exchange knowledge and ideas.

This year’s event welcomed over 12,000 attendees, 200 exhibitors and over 200 expert speakers who showcased innovative solutions, demonstrated technical excellence, and explored the future of the sector.

Rhino attended the event to increase awareness of its business and products and build relationships with new and existing customers, whilst increasing understanding of opportunities in the region and technological developments in the rail sector.

Innovation is key to Rhino’s continued success within the sector, applying its technical expertise to produce high-performance engineered doors for the protection of people and assets.

Alongside the exhibition itself, the two-day conference saw leaders, executives, and decision-makers from across the rail sector exploring key themes including the digital railway, high-speed rail, ports and logistics, and the modern passenger.

“The team had a brilliant experience at this year’s Middle East Rail, with lots of visitors to our stand and interest in our broad range of products suitable for rail infrastructure projects,” said Matthew Richards, Project Engineering Director at Rhino Doors.

“The support we received from the Welsh Government, in terms of networking and introductions, was incredibly valuable and we were very pleased to welcome Huw Merriman, Minister of State for Rail and HS2, to our stand to learn more about our work within the sector.

“We came away with a lot of enquiries, contacts and new leads, and we’re hopeful that this will lead to further work on rail infrastructure projects and greater awareness of our product range.”

Rhino Doors has worked extensively within the transport sector, having recently completed work on London Underground’s Bank Station and a major North American rail tunnel.
