Team Rhino gets put through its paces at Sports Day

September 28 2022

Last month, five members of the Rhino senior leadership team attended the inaugural Sports Day, hosted by business health and wellbeing organisation, Contact Sport

The event, which took place at Liverpool Cricket Club, saw organisations from across the North West competing in a range of sporting activities, from sack racing to squash, touch tennis and bowls.

Rhino’s team comprised of Stuart Lawrence, Group Managing Director; Dr Chris Norris, Group Engineering Director; Stewart Handler, Group Finance Director; Paul Andrews, Managing Director of Rhino Site Systems; and Jez Alston, SHEQ Manager.

The team competed against the likes of Medicash, Sequoia Health, Claire House Children’s Hospice, ReCulture, EnviroSolution, and Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, with the Rhino team taking away the Host’s Winners award.

The event, which raised money for Everton FC’s charitable arm, Everton in the Community, was designed to bring together a range of North West-based organisations to network in a relaxed, fun environment.

Contact Sport’s broader mission is to bring health and wellbeing to the fore of its member’s organisational agendas, providing them with events, programmes and experiences to enhance their employee offering and help them to meet their ESG commitments.

“With a combined age of 297 years and a combined weight of around 82 stone, Team Rhino arrived at Sports Day ready to throw itself into sporting challenges, both new and familiar”, said Stuart Lawrence, Group Managing Director of Rhino Engineering Group.

“It was great fun to be part of Contact Sport’s very first Sports Day, networking with other businesspeople, all while trying our hand at a range of different activities.

“It was especially great to be part of an event with a social cause at its heart, raising money for Everton FC’s charity to deliver positive impact within the community.”
