Rhino supports campaign to tackle holiday hunger in South Wales

December 22 2022

With the ongoing energy and cost-of-living crises hitting everyone hard – but most heavily impacting on our most vulnerable – it’s vital that businesses play their part in supporting much-needed community initiatives.

As the nights get colder and Christmas fast approaches, this is particularly important – helping to ensure that families have access to support throughout the festive season.

Everyone Deserves a Christmas, an initiative set up by Swansea East MP Carolyn Harris, has been running for the past six years and this year has been extended to include residents in Neath Port Talbot. It provides a helping hand during the holidays, bringing festive cheer to those who may be struggling.

This year, Rhino was invited by Stephen Kinnock, MP for Aberavon, to make a donation to this worthwhile campaign, helping to tackle holiday hunger by providing families with all-important community support.

A £50 donation to the campaign funds the creation of a hamper, filled with the ingredients to make a roast dinner, as well as other festive treats, and Rhino has agreed a donation of £500 to help make the lives of its neighbours a little easier over Christmas.

“I’m truly grateful to Rhino Doors for this generous donation,” said Stephen Kinnock, Labour MP for Aberavon.

“Families across our Aberavon constituency are struggling to make ends meet, and the hampers that Rhino has supported will be sent to those who are in the greatest need – because everyone deserves a Christmas.”

“Giving back to our local community is very important to us and we’re really pleased to play a small part in this initiative to make people’s Christmases a little brighter,” added Stuart Lawrence, Rhino’s Group Managing Director.

“It’s also brilliant to see lots of other businesses across the borough donating to the campaign, helping to look after our communities and giving them a memorable Christmas, especially in these difficult times.”

If you’d like to donate to the campaign and support the community in Neath Port Talbot over the festive season, you can do so here.
