Established in 1983 as an industrial door development division of RTZ (Rio Tinto Zinc) we had developed a unique door design that was quickly recognised by UK industry leaders. Our early clientele included British Steel, The British Oxygen Group, and the RAF. Following our success with basic industrial doors, we proceeded to develop our range of physical attack delay products for UK National Infrastructure projects.

In 1996-97 we were acquired by British Steel, eventually ending up as part of Corus through the merger of British Steel and Koninklijke Hoogovens in 1999, today known as Tata Steel Europe. Shortly after we re-formed following an MBO. As our work for the Ministry of Defence developed, and we entered the Transport Infrastructure sector with contracts for Crossrail, we began manufacturing a whole new range of performance rated doors and ancillary products, thus transforming Rhino into the versatile door manufacturer we are today.

In 2015 we were acquired by Cyrus Investment Management and became Rhino Systems Ltd, an integrated part of the Cyrus Group of Companies. We now benefit from being part of a portfolio of precision engineering service companies, ranging from heavy fabrication to fine machining and advanced coatings.
